For our friend Kady...

This would be Kady, our friend, and the late Kody's favorite auntie. She was one of his personal fav's. She had wanted the pics that we took when she visited a while back of her and Kody. I was looking them over and couldn't resist putting them up on the website. It's classic rottie from top to bottom: resist, inspect and judge, then just give in and kiss back.

The new kid in town

So, this is Sampson. I call him sam, and if you were my wife, you'd call him "bunny bunny," although I haven't quite figured that one out yet. One that I have figured out is what my little brother Caleb calls him: The Little Business Man. I don't know why, but I get it. It's all about the eyes, Caleb says, "he's got little business eyes." No matter what you call him, he's the coolest.

You see what I mean about the eyes? They are rather business like. Anyhow, he's doing great. We love rotties, and this guy is no exception. He's full of personality. So far on command he can: sit, beg, lay down, bite, bring in palm fronds from out in the backyard and destroy them all over the carpet.....okay, so a couple of those he does all by himself without the commands, but he's smart nonetheless.

And this is how he likes to lay down. It's all about the army crawl for this guy. Well, it's late, and I just wanted to give an update with a couple of pictures of our new little guy. Erin and I are okay. We are both battling Strep throat, which Erin got first and then gave to me like a sickly early Christmas present. Mom comes down in a couple days, and the Allens will do Christmas a tad early. Hope this finds all of you doing well, and Sam sends his best.

coming up for air

I'm back! I know that three people will be happy for this. I am so tired. I dont know why I feel like I'm 78 years old, but I do. I feel like I should get to park in handicapped spaces and get early bird specials anywhere I want, and I dont feel strange going to bed at 6pm. This med school thing sure does take it out of you. I've basically been working my brains out since june of last year. I took no vacation time between my 3rd and 4th years, so I've been going straight for like 20 months. I'm tired. Now.......I'm on vacation!

It's crazy. You see, there's this 80 hour work week rule imposed on hospitals by the government. Forget the fact that they had to make a law to limit the hours to 80, but realise that they dont really inforce this with students. Within the last month, at one point, I worked 18 straight days with most of them being 16-ish hours a day. Scary. Now, I am resting.

What's new? Sampson! We have a new little furball. Sampson is almost 3 and half months now. We have plenty of pictures, but since we've been busy, we haven't downloaded them from the camera yet. I'll do it today, and get some pics of the little guy on here soon. Vacation is nice. Not too sure what to do with myself though. maybe I'll put on some pants today. We'll see, I'll keep everyone posted.
