...painting the town red...

So, as I sit waiting for my wife to get ready, I write. What to write? Not a clue. I am currently on "Summer break," which consists of 8 days of studying for Step 2. This is the biggest test that I will take during med school. My mom is also getting married this coming friday. Busy times.

Maybe it's just because I've been so busy these last three years, or maybe it's because all I'm doing is sitting around reading volumes of books, but I am bored. Mind numbingly bored. I've been waiting for this free time for quite a while, and I feel like I'm trying to crawl out of my own skin. I need a real vacation. One with skiing, a beach, tasty beverages, and waiters named Vincent to bring me guacamole with those funny colored chips. Instead, I'm going to study 8 hours a day until my fourth year begins.

So, as a resolution, my wife and I are going on a mini vacation tonight. We're going to eat exotic food, test drive cars, spend money, and dance the night away. Let's be honest, even if we just went to McDonald's, put gas in our car, and watched the food network on TV, I'd be stoked. Finally, a night out.

Well, we send our love to everyone who reads this, that's right.....all six of you. We can't wait to spend time with you when God allows. I just hope that everyone continues to live life like you ain't got another one comin' anytime soon. Take each day and be happy.

Kody says hi.

End of the beginning, or vice versa?

Hello again all you faithful family and friends! So, I'm at the end of my 3rd year, and the beginning of my 4th. Such a nice feeling! I have, like, a hundred tests to take inbetween, including the test that holds my future in its hands.......the dreaded Step 2! Dun dun dun. But the days where Whitey tells me what rotations I have to take is done.......kinda.

I have so far passed everything that I have endured to take, but not with the most stellar of scores. Which doesn't bode well since I have decided to do Orthopaedic surgery, which is probably one of the single most competitive fields to get into now. I figure I'll win them over with my dry wit and charm.......or just challenge them to an arm wrestling contest. And fourth year is starting in two weeks (can you believe that's what a summer break is nowadays?!). So fourth year is nice because I scheduled it. I have basically three months of required rotations (whitey still holdin me down), but the rest is what I decide. So its mostly ortho. And one month of that will be out in LA at USC.

Enough of me hogging the blog. Wife is good. There, now back to me.....just kidding. She is doing credentialing stuff, and we're hoping to get her a job as an intern, or else we'll be so broke that I'll be working at Hooter's on the weekends to make some cash. Now she only has class on mondays and wednesdays. We're the definition of broke right now too, and that's always fun.

And the little furball in the picture? He's okay. He'd been limping, and we took him to the guy who says he is a doctor for animals, but is really just there to take your money......and that guy said that he needed this and that. To make a long story short, he broke his leg. Now he's tripod, but we've been assured by the moneysuckers that it'll heal up just fine.

The last news is that mom is getting married! We'll send all your congrats and whatnot. Much love to all, and since I'll be having quite a few days off, I'll sit down and write a bit. God Bless
